A prayer for the earth
We give thanks for the beauty and abundance of the earth. Give us and all peoples grace to live in harmony with your creation. Grant us wisdom and generosity in our use of its bounty. (1)
Our communities
We give thanks for the fellowship of the communities in which we live and work. We commend to your keeping, ourselves and each other, our families, those with whom we work and learn, our neighbours and our friends. Enable us by your Spirit to live in love for you and for one another. (1)
For those in need
We give thanks that you are the God who brings mercy and wholeness. Comfort and heal, we pray, all who are in sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity. Give to those who care for them wisdom, patience and gentleness and, to us all, your peace. (1)
In times of trouble
O Lord, answer us in the day of trouble, send us help from your holy place. Show us the path of life, for in your presence is joy. Give justice to the oppressed and grant them the help for which they long. Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, for your kingship has dominion over all, and with you is our redemption. God of grace and mercy, hear our prayers. (1)
A prayer for faith
Living God, in the power of your Holy Spirit, give us awareness to see the wonder of your creation. Grant us new insights to your holy, gracious way of being. Fill our hearts with love for you, and each other. Bring us to a deeper understanding of all you have done for us through the person of Jesus. As you walk with us, may we experience the peace that comes from your forgiveness and love. God of grace and mercy, hear our prayer.
